Our Parish

“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.”

St. Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians 12:12–14

Holy Virgin Mary Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church is a pan Orthodox community comprised of God seekers of all nationalities and backgrounds. Having served the West Sacramento area since 1982, under the care of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Metropolitan SABA, we are blessed to have celebrated our 40th anniversary last year. Glory to God!

Sitting on a two acre lot on the outskirts of the city, Holy Virgin Mary provides a tranquil and natural setting for worship (a virtual tour can be viewed HERE). The church grounds are comprised of a spacious courtyard, adorned by seventy fruit trees for all to enjoy, and a lively barnyard, home to sheep and chickens alike. Be sure to ask about the farm-fresh eggs when you visit!

Inside the church, you will be treated to traditional Byzantine chants during all services, as well as the beauty and dignity of Orthodox iconography. On Sundays, during Divine Liturgy, Father Paul delivers homilies on the Gospels, Holy Fathers, and Christian virtues. Come and experience the traditional mode of worship as imparted to us by the Holy Apostles!
After Divine Liturgy, stay for refreshment and fellowship during coffee hour in the Mediterranean hall. Go out back and stroll the courtyard or visit the animals at your leisure. Father Paul is always available to talk during this time.
We look forward to seeing you!
